May 26 2008 'Pixie dust' may help regrow vet's finger

'Pixie dust' = Salamander dust, no wait- pig dust, I mean stem cells
I like the way CNN decided to change the term "stem cell" with all its baby killing connotations to "pixie dust." Especially since the pentagon has been given all this tax revenue to conduct research .
Pixie dust does have a better ring than non-human stem cell regenerative reduction sauce.

The "pixie dust" mentioned in the article is tissue extracted from a pig's bladder that (allegedly) stimulates ever-present human stem cells to rebuild damaged tissue. Stem cell research is not evil or bad just because it's stem cell research. There are plenty of other sources of stem cells besides fetuses. Nobody's out murdering babies to make this work.

Given the number of pigs that are routinely slaughtered for food and other commodities, what's so wrong with using the tissue from a pig's bladder to improve the quality of human life? Heck, were it not for insulin from a pig's pancreas, insulin-dependent diabetics (like myself) would have been SOL for the better part of the last 100 years... I suppose we all should have just sucked it up and died young?

Dear Chris B,
Thank you for your comment and I apologize that the post was unclear and hastily composed.
My points were:
1. To highlight CNN's sensationalized reporting style -using the pixie dust nick name in the headline, then using salamander-inspired therapy in the title and finally in the last throes of the article revealing the porcine composition of the regenerative powder. It is to me a very strange spiral of information that is offensive and distorting in its presentation. Also, a bubble of fantastical science fiction is blown in this article to encase the research which is, again, unnecessary and sensational. This procedure is contemporary science and its applications are progressive and helpful. I don't understand the need to alienate the reader by marginalizing this accomplishment to sci-fi.

2. To raise the point that the pentagon is now with ease receiving tax payer money for research and trials which, historically, this funding has been very difficult for the private and academic sectors to acquire. Difficult because of the stigma stem cell research carries of its association with human embryonic cells regardless of actual derivation. I raise this point because it is an interesting change in public opinion, not because I want to make a personal judgment.

I have no problem with stem cells derived from pigs, humans, salamanders, rats- whatever. I certainly have no problem with your insulin regimen. That's just crazy talk and I apologize again that the post was unclear.

Hello everyone!
I would like to burn a theme at this forum. There is such a thing, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For quite a long time, I earn money with the help of these programs.
I'm with no money problems now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my web site to get additional info.
